Do You Make This Mistake With Your Designer Handbag?

While waiting for a cup of Latte at my local Starbucks, I saw a regular come into the shop. I probably see this lady at least 3 times a week. She seems to be quite well off, engages the staff in pleasant conversation, has a lovely smile but something never seemed quite together with her dress sense.
Well, today it finally clicked. I finally realized what wasn't coming together.
What was it you may ask? I'll tell you in a bit but before I do, this lady reminded me of one-sandwich Sally.

Who's one-sandwich Sally? I'll tell you. While in primary school many years ago, my favorite part of the day was lunch time. Sometimes all that education stuff made my head hurt, so it was nice to relax with my friends during lunch time. The members of my gang were Jeremy, Lisa, Karen, Wayne, myself and one-sandwich Sally.

Why did we call her one-sandwich Sally?

Because she always came to school with the same Mayonnaised Hovis sandwich filled with cucumber and Tuna. Every single day! In the summer months...Cucumber and Tuna sandwich. In the winter months...Cucumber and Tuna sandwich. You could never really exchange anything of value with Sally because she always had Cucumber and Tuna in her lunch box. So what does one-sandwich Sally have to do with our Starbucks lady? Well, every time she came into the store and I saw her around town, she always carried the same red Fendi Hobo bag. Don't get me wrong, the Fendi Hobo bag is a great bag. One of my favorites but Starbucks lady had this bag when she came into the store in a pair of jeans and t-shirt. The same red Fendi handbag when she came in wearing a horse rider gear. I even saw her at a dinner event wearing a green evening dress with this red Fendi hobo handbag. A clutch purse would have been more appropriate.
So how does this concern you? Well, have you fallen so in love with one of your designer handbags that you wear it with anything and everything? Is your handbag collection so limited that your office, business, party and evening attire are complemented by the same handbag? If you've fallen into this pattern as we all have at some time, then its time to change. Let your next handbag purchase complement your style and wardrobe like no other handbag in your collection is doing at the moment. Expand your handbag collection with a different colour, designer, size etc. So maybe you love your Designer Hobo Bags. Well it might just be time to spice up your wardrobe with a beautiful Tote Bag. Or maybe you fell in love with Gucci Designer Bags the first time you set eyes on them and vowed never to look upon another. Well, I have a little advice for you. Your Designer handbags were made for dating not marriage. Feel free to go out on dates with Prada Bags, Fendi Purses, Burberry Classic Handbags and remember to complement your Designer handbags with matching Designer wallets. Don't be a one-sandwich Sally. Add some variety to your handbag collection today!

A Year Older and a Little Less Wiser

In just one year an awful lot has happened, the complete collapse of the world financial system. Barrack Obama became president. My bad-boy nephew has a girlfriend or two. My 24 month old niece is reading thanks to the ‘Your Baby Can Read’ program. And as for me, I have started a new career in writing and in a few weeks will celebrate another birthday. I should have a party. I can merge both a personal birthday party and the concept of a networking event into one; killing two birds with one stone.

Because I’m new in town, I can invite my immediate small circle of family and their friend. I will also invite potential clients, as well as, those people who are connected in the community. Huh, how can I structure the party and invitations to reflect my intentions clearly? I don’t want to appear ambitious or pretentious. I know one thing for certain… the invitations; the favors and decorations will definitely be DIY. My friend Richard suggested that I go online to get ideas for innovative party themes and decorating tips. There is one site I thought had the best and most economical tips , http://www.celebrating-birthdays.com/invitations/index.shtml and also http://www.celebrating-birthdays.com/crafts/flower-felt-bags.shtml. That’s where I was inspired and came up with a great idea. Take a blank index cards and print the party details on them. Go to the dollar store and purchase some cheap aprons. Then pin them on the apron and send as invitations. UHm…It would be great if I could find melon printed aprons….I’ll keep you posted.

Thanx Prez for Nominating Sotomayor

Wake Up Girl! Prince Charming Is Not Coming

What's next. I have spent my entire life with the assumption I was going to find a guy, get married and have babies. I'm now...well let's say over thirty and it hasn't happened. I'm not young anymore and surely a little wear-for-tear. But one thing for certain, time is no friend and I better accept my prince is not coming. I have no choice but to pick up and be the hero in my own life. So with much reservation and fear I forge ahead to a new one. What that entails is a mystery to me, but all I know is today I chose life. There's has to be a world beyond being dumped.
